Rory Clarke is a Director of J R Rix & Sons Limited a family owned business based in Hull, and Managing Director of the fuel distribution part of the group, Rix Petroleum, which is the largest independent, family owned, fuel distributor in the UK.

JR Rix & Sons can trace its origins back for more than 140 years. Whilst it started out as ship owners in the 1870's it is only a small part of what it does today. Its diverse activities range from stevedoring, warehousing, and car retailing through to fuel distribution, manufacturing and property development; employing approximately 500 people it has a group turnover in excess of £500 million.

Rix's achievements have been recognised with the Forecourt Trader of the Year 'Best Oil Company Initiative' 2002, a Green Apple Environment Award in 2003, the Green Fleet Awards 'Alternative Fuel Supplier of the Year' in 2007 and an EAST (Environment and Sustainable Technology) Award in 2007, a winner of the Family Business of the Year Award in 2015 and a Sunday Times Top Track 250 company for 9 out of the last 10 years, although the most important accolade of any business is to continue to be successful and profitable.

Rory started his career with a short spell working for a firm of chartered accountants but quickly realised that this wasn’t for him and left to do a Short Service Commission in the Army, joining the infantry as a platoon commander after leaving Sandhurst. Rory has a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) and is a member of the Energy Institute (MEI), and a Fellow of the Institute of Directors (FIoD). Interests include rock climbing, skiing, and triathlon.

Jan is Chief Executive Officer of Environmental Management Solutions (EMS) Ltd a charity she founded in 2009 with the primary aim of working with communities to alleviate food and fuel poverty.

Catherine Bishop

Catherine previously worked as Programme Director for National Youth Agency (NYA), leading social economic programme delivery at  Yorkshire Forward for 10 years. Previous to this she was Executive Director for Preston Road New Deals for Communities and Development Manager for Humberside Co-operative Development Agency. Catherine also has non-executive roles on number of social enterprises and charities to support her passion of working with communities to 'make a difference'
